Wagon Wheels west!

On Thursday I had the opportunity to perform for my very first time on a BYU stage. It was a student directed piece and not that big of a production, but still it was a performance at BYU and I had the best time ever performing! The production was a western musical melodrama. I played the role of "cookie" I was the handmaid for the star Senorita Juanita Fandango. My character was a bit ditzy and awkward so I had a lot of fun playing with the role.
This also made me realize that I can act, I can do this. It's so easy to get lost in the crowd at BYU and think that everyone is so much better than me. True, there are a lot of talented people at this school, but I bring something unique and I was really grateful for the opportunity to show that.
The musical showed 3 times on Thursday and on our last performance the theater was the most packed they said that they have ever seen for a Mask club (that's what the student directed plays are called) They didn't have enough seats for everyone and people were sitting on the aisles. Here are some pictures of the production and I uploaded a short video of a part of it too for you all to see:

On stage fixing Senorittys outfitStrikin' a pose with senoritty
This is Kate or known on stage as Sue Flay(she was the evil accomplice) Kate and I have become good friends because of this play, if I wasn't going on a mission I would be rooming with her next year for sure! While Senorita danced I lip sang being her and awkwardly danced, there were a lot of laughs from the audience, mostly from my roommates though :)So below is the video of our ending song--to explain my character is constantly trying to imitate Senorita Fandango and that's why I look so awkward

Dum dum da dum!

We all thought that spring was the time for love, but I would just like to correct that so called fact as of now! No longer is that true, the real time is Fall. My 3 best friends are all engaged (2 unofficial, yes, but when you already have a date what is official really?) Luckily, I have plans of my own and hopefully I won't get swept away in this marriage talk. But in the mean time I am enjoying being apart of the planning of these weddings! And I get 3 new dresses so it's looking pretty good for me. The inspiration of this post came from, in fact, trying on my first of the 3. We used toilet paper as our bouquets and as the veil for the bride. This is just a preview of the next year for me:Let's hope that whole always a bridesmaid never a bride is just as true as that whole Spring love nonsense :)

Provo Just Won't Be the Same

So I just wanted to say that I am so sad to see Matt and Maddie leave Provo! I'm so excited for their new adventure but it will be so sad to see them go! I love how they are both hilarious in their different ways...usually unintentionally :) They have become close friends to me and I have loved having them here to help me adjust through these first years of college. They have been such a blessing in my life and I'm so grateful for them! Provo just won't be the same without you two!

My Big News!

I just got promoted to be a supervisor at work! I couldn't be more excited! Really it was time for a change of pace and I love the new responsibility! I get to be over about 6 other employees and help interview them and train them and answer questions that they may have. I feel so blessed to have this new job. It was exactly what I needed. Especially since a lot of my friends that had been working there are now moving on to different jobs. And since 2 of my roommates are dating seriously (1 engaged the other soon to be I'm sure :) this will give me something to keep me busy. Oh and a side note our new 4th roommate is from Hong Kong! She seems very nice and I'm sure she'll be cooking some crazy dishes that I've never seen before. It looks like it's going to be an eventful Fall!

July 4th!

Happy 4th! For the holiday Jenn (my roommate and close friend) let me tag a long for all of her fun family activities and it was a blast! The first activity on the list was a pancake breakfast followed by a shaving cream fight with her ward. Apparently this is a tradition. Everyone brings there own shaving cream and goes at it and then the Fire truck comes and hoses everyone off! It was seriously so much fun and I recommend it to all!

I personally think that I look like Matt in this picture...or just like a boy in general... haha

This is with Jenn, her sister, uncle and cousins, they were all so much fun! Here comes the fun part! The firemen go up really high on their ladder and spray 2 hoses down on the crowd like it's raining. The hose was pretty powerful and knocked some down but for the most part it was just really cold!

After that we had a BBQ at Jenn's parents, friends and family came and then we launched water balloons at Jenn's aunt and uncle. It was a blast!
Don't worry I didn't forget about the stadium of fire, I just haven't uploaded those one's yet. Over all this was one of the best if not the best 4th I have ever had! It was so action pact! I'm so grateful for my friends and their families that are so welcoming to me and serve me constantly, without them, I would probably be homesick more often. I love them and am so grateful for their kindness!

D-Land!

So I got to Go to Disney land with some of my best friends that are also my roomates ( with the exception of Newman) at BYU! Jenn's uncle works for D-land and he was kind enough to let us not only stay at his house but to get us in to Disney land and California Adventure for FREE! It was a blast, we went to the beach and went swimming in their pool, jumped on their trampoline, watched movies, ate lots of ice cream and celebrated being done with finals early! It was honestly one of the funnest trips ever and I'll never forget it!

In this picture Ronnie ticked off tinker bell and so she wouldn't smile in any of the pictures, Jenn and I couldn't stop laughing we thought it was so funny, as for Ronnie, well she doesn't like Tink very much any more :)

Spring is Here!

...and so are finals! Hooray! March has been one of the funnest months ever! I can't believe that the semester is almost over. I've decided to come home for the Spring and then to come back and work full time in Provo for the Summer. But before I move onward into summer bliss I wanted to post some of my favorite pictures from March! My best friend Nicole and I at bridal veil falls
This is at my NERDTASTIC birthday party! It was amazing! We even had a rock, paper, scissors tournament with a bracket and prizes!

The Wrights especially grasped on to the opportunity to dress up! (Ryan came as himself)
So there is this Hindu tradition where people gather to celebrate the coming of spring and they do this by throwing colored flower into the air. It's really fun and crazy! This is our before shot
...AFTER....
you can see the giant crowd of mostly BYU and UVU students and the Hindu temple in the backroundAnd lastly Janai came over for a sleepover! It was a blast! We did our hair matching, nails, watched girly movies, talked about boys, made cookies and then decorated picture frames and then took pictures to put in the frames. It was so much fun and I loved having the opportunity to spend time with my niece. I know it will be one of those times that we'll look back on as a fun memory we had.

It's been forever

So I've decided to update me blog! So exciting isn't it? I thought I would just put up some pictures of highlights of winter semester so you all can enjoy them! So here they are....
The one above this is when my roomate Jenn and my serget roomate Ronnie and I went 80's dancing...I think dressing up was the best part...

This one is of jenn, ronnie and I when we went to see music and the spoken word. We also had a chance to stop in at Grandma Crane's and it was so much fun to get to have my friends meet her. They especially enjoyed her stories from her trip to Europe.
Megan Aulick came to see me in January and we had a blast. We went sledding and just caught up. I hadn't seen her for 4 years, but it really felt like it had only been 4 days. I loved spending time with her and she had so much fun she said that she wanted to come back every weekend.
So lets just say I love where I'm living now. And one of the main reasons is this girl right here. I used to work with Jenn and we became good friends. She told me her roomate was moving and so I took her spot and I couldn't be happier. This particular picture is of us pretending to be in a Gap add. I thought Traci would especially like this since I am wearing the best scarf ever!

So there is is my life in 4 pictures :) I'm having a lot of fun and I'm always busy with school. This semester seems to be one of the hardest ones I've had, but it's also been really fun in a lot of ways. I am constantly reminded of how blessed I am to be at BYU and there is no other place I would rather be!
