What NOT to wear?

The mission is fast approaching and I have to get all of my "Sister Missionary" clothes ready...bleh. I know everyone's been telling me that I just need to suck it up and try to look like a Sister missionary since after all that's what I will be. However, I do NOT want to look frumpy and the idea of wearing gross shoes does NOT excite me.These are the shoes I'm ordering, a girl who served in Halifax said that they lasted her the entire mission and that they were really comfortable. I'm grateful for the tip, because it's been hard to find ones that will work. I just hope they look good with my skirts....oh the skirts... Really the skirts will be good, I've had a lot of good help from Mom and Traci with finding some cute ones. The only thing about shopping for long skirts is that when you first enter the store they all look ugly...then by the end everything looks like it could work. By the time Traci and I were almost done with the dress barn I was looking in the plus sizes to find something.

Really I think it will be great, Mom is making 2 dresses for me to wear which I think will be so cute! And it will be cold most of the time so I get to wear cute sweaters. I really am excited, and I LOVE the fact that I will be a Sister missionary, I just hope I can pull off looking semi-descent while being one!

Babies Babies Babies!

So I thought I would show a little bit of what I've been up to lately. Here is a sort of chronological picture book of what I've been doing and boy oh boy is it full of babies!
First my friend Melissa had a baby, his name is Zakary and he is sooooo cute.
Then my friend Megan had her baby, his name is Elijah and he has the cutest blond hair I love it.

And this baby graduated...so I guess he's not a baby anymore....I got a chance to stay with Mike and Brooke and those kids are sooo cute. Eden was so tired that night I love her cute voice especially when she said, "I take a nap now" with her eyes half closed in a coma
And lastly I've been hanging out with these, well I guess you can't call them babies at least don't tell them I said that... :)
I went to Disney land and used the girls as an excuse for waiting in line to see my favorite princess! I know you're all jealous!

I love spending time with all of these little kids! It's so fun to hear what they say next, to dance to Disney songs with them, and hear "Asheeeee" every other minute. We have parties in my room, go to the park, play games, and eat lots of snacks. I'm so glad I get to spend time with family before I leave on my mission. (By the way I'm giving my talk before I go on July 18th! See you there?)

drum roll please....

The Mission Papers are in!

...how do I feel? well I well answer this question because I get it A LOT. It feels very surreal. and very peaceful. I have no worries, no doubts, no emotion except for anticipation and does that even really qualify as an emotion?...

Anyways I should hear back within a week and a half!
(hopefully :)

This has been my dream for so long and now this is my chance...I'm just trying to enjoy the suspense while it lasts!

I hope they call me on a mission...

So as I'm wrapping up my mission papers, in the process I needed to upload a mission photo. I thought you all might enjoy seeing my classy mission uniform with the cardigan and white collar. (I tried to find some ugly shoes to go with it, but alas I could not find any, thus I stuck with the head shot style)

Ronnie asked me what else I would like to use as a background, this was where I ended up.

And these awww what beauties....Ronnie bet me five bucks to submit anyone of these...5 bucks? I don't know if it's worth it...

So there you go! 10 days left and my papers are in! Now I just have to have a Doctors appointment, meet with the Bishop and Stake President and it's done! yikes...some times I forget what I'm actually doing, I think I've been working on this goal for so long that I don't realize what a great commitment I'm making. But then I remember how excited I am and how I have wanted this for so long and now I actually get to do it! sooo...full steam ahead!

Friends

I'm as of late realizing how much friends really make a difference in my life.
As I'm getting ready to take off I'm thinking about some of the things that I will be missing and among those things are the people. Yes I am giving A LOT of showers this semester, but also I am so glad that I get the chance to celebrate their accomplishments and these exciting times in their lives. (Don't worry Traci I've delegated and I don't think my ulcer's getting worse :) Friends can some times be your family away from family when you're in college and I feel so grateful to have become so close to people to be able to throw them showers and celebrate these moments!

As of late I've felt like I've been able to spend more time with work friends and I think this has really blessed my life because well not only does it make work more enjoyable but it's fun to see these people outside of me telling them what to do all the time :) I wish I had pictures to show of them, but for now here are some of my favorites of my friends!

I love meeting famous people!

Chelsea Hightower
Mark Ballas
Thayne Jespersen
So Ash and I got to go to the Covey center and meet Thayne from So You Think You Can Dance and Mark Ballas and Chelsey Hightower from Dancing with the Stars. They were dancing with this studio that seemed to be a bunch of high school performers. But the dancing was sooooo good! I got so nervous and felt really awkward asking total strangers to take a picture with me especially total strangers that I love watching on TV! but finally we got up the nerve and I'm so glad we did! it was SOOOOOOO fun! We are going again on Saturday night because Derek Hough from Dancing with the Stars is supposed to be there too so I can't wait! This clip was a dance that Mark choreographed Mark and Chelsea Dancing together

I'm Alive!

filling out the police report (oh poor pregnant driver sheesh)

In this one the car door is shut as much as it can be. It was snowing in the car on our way back, too bad you can't see completely but it was pretty crazy how damaged her one door was.

TOO TOO Many car crashes for one weekend!

So I won't give a very detailed description of the first one because it's boring and well I basically hit ice and scrapped the bumper of a parked car (which the owner of had been hit 2 times already that day). HOWEVER I will say this: it was a miracle that I did not injure my car and that I only scratched his! Man oh man! I came home that night feeling a bit scared about having to pay for his scratches but mostly just grateful and relieved that I wasn't going faster than 20 miles an hour and that the owner was so nice AND that I was safe and not injured!

SOOOOOOOOOOO let's get to the exciting freeway accident which then occurred Saturday afternoon! I was with my 3 friends coming back from a bridal expo in Salt Lake (which was really fun-good food :) ) and my friend Melissa (who is pregnant p.s.) is driving (she drives a suburban luckily). So we're going about 70 in the middle lane when all of a sudden a little yellow car cuts in front of us and zooms off. Then it all happened really fast:

I see out of the corner of my eye this white car and the sound of breaks. The white car comes head on to the drivers door (I'm sitting behind the driver) and then the white car spins out of control repeatedly across the freeway to the left side. Some how we end up on the right side of the freeway with out hitting anything or anyone. So police come, we call 911, ambulance fire truck etc. Still the girl does not come out of the white car. They shut down the freeway for 2 minutes and pull her car to the other side and take her out on a stretcher. Everyone in our car was fine. SOOOOOO WHAT HAPPENED?

Our conclusion is that the white and yellow cars were racing, the yellow sped off and the white lost control. The girl in the white car is not seriously injured to my knowledge, her neck just hurt and she some how could not remember anything that had happened...hmmm...

SOOOOOOOO It's a MIRACLE!
Why do you ask?

-we were in a big car- in a smaller one someone would have been injured for sure
-no glass shattered
-Melissa wasn't texting, distracted,or going to fast when hit
-No other cars were damaged in the process

I feel so incredibly blessed! A car full of 4 girls-2 engaged to be married in the temple, 1 a soon to be mother, and me a soon to be missionary. Wow. I am so incredibly grateful to a Heavenly Father who is constantly aware of His children and who watches out for us when we don't even realize that we need watching out for! ------this last picture was at the wedding expo I thought it would be good to end on a happy note!
